GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Patrick Johnson (48), who has sold the Graaff-Reinet Advertiser every Thursday for the last 27 years, was robbed of R460 on Thursday 15 August.
"I thought someone was just walking past me, next thing I knew one man held me and the other one put this hand in my pocket for the bag of money," Johnson told the Advertiser, with tears in his eyes.
He had sold 115 newspapers when the incident took place. "They left me with only 20c in my pocket. They took the bread from my table," Johnson added.
Members of the Graaff-Reinet SAPS arrived at the Advertiser's offices on Church Street just after 3pm to take his statement. A case of robbery has been opened.
