GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The new Speaker of the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature (CPL), Helen Sauls-August, will officially open and set to work the sixth ECPL (since democracy in 1994), on 28 June.
The ECPL consists of 63 members.
The seats are occupied by 44 African National Congress (ANC) members, 10 Democratic Alliance, five Economic Freedom Fighters, two United Democratic Movement, one African Transformation Movement, and one Freedom Front Plus.
Mlibo Qoboshiyane will serve as the deputy speaker.
Both Sauls-August and Qoboshiyane are ANC members.
Oscar Mabuyane was sworn in on 23 May as the new Eastern Cape Premier.
