NIEU-BETHESDA NEWS - Owl House Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Stefano Nappo as the seventh director of the Owl House Foundation board of directors.
Nappo brings a wealth of experience to the board, with a background that spans astrophysics, law and intellectual property.
Having initially encountered the Karoo region during his doctoral studies in the 1980s, Nappo has maintained a connection to the area, culminating in his appointment in this position.
Throughout his career, he has held key positions in various prestigious organisations, including Linklaters, Reuters and UBS, where he served as general counsel. His expertise in legal matters, ranging from litigation to corporate affairs, is extensive. Currently, he leads the Intellectual Property division at NEOM, a significant project in Saudi Arabia.
Beyond his professional achievements, he has demonstrated a commitment to community engagement. His involvement in initiatives such as a non-profit art gallery in Merweville underscores his dedication to fostering local talent and promoting art education.
He said he is honoured to be able to join the Owl House Foundation, and he looks forward to contributing to the organisation's mission of protecting and preserving Owl House.
He joins a diverse board committed to ensuring the sustainability and recognition of this cultural treasure, which holds significance as one of only two national heritage sites in the Eastern Cape.
