KAROO NEWS - The community of the Dr Beyers Naudè Local Municipality (DBNLM) will see another movement emerge, in the form of Service Delivery Movement, currently spearheaded by Amos Mcinga of Graaff-Reinet.
According to the acting spokesperson for the movement, Vuyisa Janjies, it was established on 29 October and is still in its planning stage.
It intends to register as a party contesting local issues at the local municipal elections in August 2021.
Janjies says they have already approached several DBNLM communities in Jansenville, Aberdeen, Willowmore, Umasizakhe, Steytlerville and Thembalesizwe, to find support for their movement.
"We intend to contest as a municipal party in the local government elections in 2021, for the seats in the Dr Beyers Naude Local Council," he said.
Janjies added that they intend on submitting their application for registration to the Chief Electoral Officer before 15 January 2021.
