KAROO NEWS - The Standing Committee of Community Services in Graaff-Reinet is celebrating the acquisition of new vehicles allocated to the Protection Services Department.
Director of Human Services, Gewnynne Hermanus, newly appointed Protection Services Manager, Dennis Fortuin, Acting Manager of the Department, Rory Boggenpoek, Administrative Manager, Sonwabo Langbooi, Senior Fire Fighting Officer, Bernito Herandien, and committee members, Cllrs Eunice Kekana, Ricardo Smith, Anella Koeberg and Joy Williams, attended the handover.
The new vehicles are four traffic services vehicles, one fire rescue vehicle and two law enforcement vehicles.
The timing of this addition to the fleet is significant and Williams said teams will be better equipped to provide safety and security to residents as they head into the festive season.
The Protection Services Department plays a crucial role in maintaining public safety, responding to emergencies, and enforcing the law.
