GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The Dr Beyers Naudé Local municipal area - up to 2 June - recorded a total of 25 positive Covid-19 cases since the outbreak of the pandemic.
Statistics are as provided by The National Department of Health.
Nationally, there are 35 812 positive cases, with 4 324 (12,1 %) in the Eastern Cape.
In the Sarah Baartman District municipal area, 111 cases were reported, with 45 recoveries and 8 deaths. Nineteen of the reported cases are health staff.
Of the 25 cases in the Dr Beyers Naudé Local municipal area, 7 cases are active, with 18 recoveries. This area shows 12 health workers infected by the virus, out of the 18 infected health workers in the seven areas of the Sarah Baartman District.
The other health workers tested positive are 4 from the Blue Crane Route Municipality area and 2 from Makana.
The other 6 areas within the Sarah Baartman District, are Blue Crane (5 cases reported of which all 5 are active), Kouga (23 cases, 11 active and 12 recoveries), Kou-Kamma (2 cases with 1 active), Makana (12 cases with 7 active), Ndlambe (2 cases with 1 active) and Sundays River Valley (42 cases with 26 active cases).
