GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - During the last week, Graaff-Reinet and Aberdeen police have made arrests in many serious cases.
One person has been arrested for rape, five for assault GBH and one for common assault. There have been eight arrests for theft, three for housebreaking and theft, and one for robbery with a weapon other than a firearm. One person was also arrested for being in possession of a dangerous weapon.
Three people were arrested for contravening protection orders, and eight on warrants of arrest - a warrant is issued when a suspect does not turn up for a court date. One suspect in a stock theft case was arrested.
In drug-related issues, there was an important arrest for dealing in dagga, as well as one person arrested for being in possession of the drug.
There were many arrests (22) for people being drunk and disorderly, as well as seven for drinking in public. Two people were arrested for trespassing, and six suspects for traffic offenses.
