MEC checks readiness at schools

GRAAFF-REINENT NEWS - In a proactive move towards ensuring the seamless return to school, Member of Executive Council (MEC) Bukiwe Fanta of the Department of Social Development embarked on a visit to Lingcom Primary School in Kroonvale.

This initiative is part of the government's broader back-to-school programme, aimed at evaluating the state of readiness in schools.

As the provincial district development model champion for Sarah Baartman, Fanta initiated the programme by conducting a thorough assessment at Lingcom Primary School.

The school, in turn, warmly welcomed the MEC and her entourage, eliciting applause from the students gathered in the school assembly area, seated on the cement floor.

Department of Social Development, committed to fostering a caring society for the protection and development of the poor and vulnerable, envisions a sustainable society achieved by building conscious and capable citizens.

Their approach involves providing integrated social development services, with families positioned at the core of social change.

The department is tasked with managing all grants received from the government and ensuring that every individual possesses a birth certificate, emphasizing that every child is entitled to receive the grant.

During the visit, Fanta distributed sanitary towels as part of her broader program.
