GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - While a Graaff-Reinet Museum employee awaits their Covid-19 test result, museums in Graaff-Reinet will remain closed as of today, 27 October, until further notice.
Museums affected include The Old Library Museum, Reinet House, The Old Residency. Urquhart House and The Military Museum.
According to Head of the Graaff-Reinet Museum, Anziske Kayster, the museums cannot simply be deep-cleaned, as the chemicals and water will be harmful to precious documents and artefacts.
“We will evaluate the situation after [the employee’s] test result, and follow the guidelines prescribed by the Eastern Cape Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, as well as the World Health Organization,” explained Kayster.
