GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - A total of 44 people took advantage of the free diabetes and blood pressure testing service offered by Graaff-Reinet Lions last Thursday, on World Diabetes Day.
Most of those tested were older people, although Lions member Brian Hough did manage to persuade some young people to be checked.
According to Hough, the nurses only picked up one case of extreme hypertension, and the lady concerned was referred to Midlands Hospital. "It seems that there were fortunately no diabetes anomalies," said Hough.
The Lions would like to thank Clicks for making their clinic room available for the testing, as well as all those who supported the fundraising tea.
