GRAAFF-REINET - At the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club the popular Spar Handicap Pairs competition was played on Saturday afternoon, 11 March where 10 teams competed for the vouchers up for grabs. When the dust settled, the combination of Ivor Wakeford and Rick Beagley claimed the spoils.

The club's Veteran and Novice Singles Championships will be played on the local greens this coming weekend.

4 bowlers, 4 medals
After a week of strenuous, intense lawn bowls at inter-district level, four Eastern Province representatives from Graaff-Reinet, Sonia Matthee, Helene de Wet, Charlene Colyn and Arthur Langley, were in the teams who returned home with two silver and two bronze medals.

Colyn picked up a silver medal in KwaZulu-Natal, while Langley earned his silver in Gauteng. 

The two bronze medals, won by the EP teams of Matthee and De Wet, were attained in Oudtshoorn.
