HOFMEYR NEWS - One arrest has been made, after a knife-wielding man was discovered inside the home of the Van Buuren family of Opperhof farm at midnight on 20 December.
“The family woke up and realised a stranger, armed with a knife, was in their home. It appears he gained access to the home by breaking a window,” read a statement by Hofmeyr Sekuriteit.

Hofmeyer SAPS was already on the scene when various nearby farmers arrived on the farm to assist the family. One person was arrested on the scene, and the Van Buuren family was unharmed.
“Be alert and contact your security sector in times of need,” said Faan Coetzer, spokesperson of Hofmeyer Sekuriteit.
