KAROO NEWS - The Boer-e-Goete Christmas Market that was held at Karoo Trade in December 2018 was a huge success, and event owner Vicky Pienaar has decided to host monthly Farmers' Markets at the same venue.
The first of these monthly markets will run from 1 to 4 March at Karoo Trade, from 09:00 until late in the evenings. Shoppers can look forward to fresh farm and natural products, quality handcrafted home decor and gifts, ladies fashion and accessories, baby gifts and toys, and many more interesting and unique products.
Due to the confines of the venue, there obviously cannot be an unlimited number of stalls, but Pienaar is confident that there will be something of interest for all. There are still stalls available for the inaugural market, and anyone interested in selling their products is welcome to contact Pienaar. She explained that all stalls do need to be pre-approved, and the preference, in keeping with the style of market, is for products that are handmade, natural, and organic. Products should be unique, and not mass-produced and bought for resale.
One huge benefit for sellers is that the stallholders do not need to be present at the market (although they are welcome to be!), as all sales are paid for at a central point. This is particularly advantageous for those stallholders living out-of-town and makes it possible for them to also make use of the market's opportunities without the commitment and cost of daily attendance.
The central payment point also has credit card facilities, which is of benefit to shoppers, as they will not have to carry large amounts of cash.
Farmers Markets are an integral part of the linkage between farmers, local exhibitors and the consumer, and the popularity of this type of market continues to rise internationally.
"Come support local by visiting the Boer-e-Goete Farmers Market" encouraged Pienaar.
