GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The choir of the Isibane Primary School recently participated in the South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod (SASCE) at Sarah Baartman district level and managed to sing their way through to Eastern Cape provincial level.
The SASCE is coordinated by the Department of Basic Education in partnership with the Motsepe Foundation to promote positive values, national reconciliation, social transformation, social cohesion, unity in diversity, and a new South African national identity among learners in South Africa.
The competition comprises three categories – junior, intermediate and high school.
Isibane Primary School entered into the junior and intermediate categories and was awarded three trophies – first prize for the performance of their senior boys' choir, first prize for the Western piece performed by their mixed choir, and first prize for the African piece performed by their mixed choir.
Congratulations to the boys and girls of the Isibane primary school choir and choir conductors.
