KAROO NEWS - The Inxuba Yethemba Municipality's (IYM), serving Middelburg, Cradock and surrounding areas, up to 18 July, recorded 646 Covid-19-related cases since the outbreak of the pandemic.
59% of these patients recovered from the virus.
Mayor Noncedo Zonke said 28 of these patients died due to the virus and 238 recovered.
The Lengelihle area in the Cradock district recorded most of these positive cases, namely 190. Fourteen of them died, with 77 recoveries. Also in Cradock at Mishausdal, 49 cases were recorded, with 2 deaths and 21 recoveries. In the Cradock town area, 61 of the 101 Covid-19 positive patients recovered. Three died.
The Middelburg Kwanonzame area on the eighteenth stood on 182 positive cases, with 141 recoveries and 4 deaths.
Rural areas like Hillsise (Mortimar farms) and Midros Rosemead farms counted to 115 positive cases, 77 recoveries and three deaths.
