HOFMEYR NEWS - Hofmeyr Hugs of Hope, a skills development association in Hofmeyr, has officially started their reading drive in the town on Wednesday 23 August, when the first load of 100 books, was delivered to the Hofmeyr Local Library on Wednesday.
This association has been gathering used books from several donors and they then have a ‘book-repair’ day once a week, where books in need of attention are mended.
This reading drive will also include delivery and distribution of used children's books to several crèches and schools in the different communities in and around Hofmeyr.
The chairperson at Hofmeyr Hugs of Hope, André Schoeman, states: “We cherish our children, and we know that a child who reads is a child who exceeds. Therefore, this book drive aims to equip playschools, crèches and schools, as well as libraries, with books. These books will be taken care of and managed by Hugs of Hope, with the assistance of our qualified Librarian, Ronel Gouws, as well as a team of book lovers at Hugs.”
Any book donations can be forwarded to Hofmeyr Hugs of Hope.
