GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - As of 20 December, the Dr Beyers Naudé Local municipal district reported 3347 Covid-19 cases in total. Currently, there are 107 active cases in the district. According to statistics by the Eastern Cape Department of Health, the district has recorded 3162 recoveries in total and 78 deaths.
Hotspot areas within the district, according to the Department of Health on 20 December, are Asherville, Graaff-Reinet, Kroonvale, Umasizakhe and Willowmore.
The breakdown per local towns, as on 20 December, is as follows:
- Graaff-Reinet: 2127 total cases, 76 active cases, 1995 recoveries, 56 deaths
- Aberdeen: 426 total cases, 9 active cases, 411 recoveries, 6 deaths
- Kirkwood: 800 total cases, 18 active cases, 737 recoveries, 45 deaths
- Willowmore: 259 total cases, 10 active cases, 242 recoveries, 7 deaths
- Jansenville: 202 total cases, 7 active cases, 200 recoveries, 4 deaths
- Steytlerville: 185, 3 active cases, 181 recoveries, 1 death
- Klipplaat: 118 total cases, 1 active case, 115 recoveries, 2 deaths
- Nieu-Bethesda: 20 total cases, 1 active case, 18 recoveries, 1 death
- Rietbron: 10 total cases, 0 active cases, 10 recoveries, 0 deaths
