CRADOCK NEWS - Community members will be marching to the Cradock Magistrate's Court today, after what appears to be another gender-based violence murder on 15 October.
Police attended to a complaint of murder at a house in Olifant Street, Cradock, where they found the body of the 38-year-old Ncediwe Manqina, lying next to the bed with multiple injuries to her body.
A 40-year-old suspect was arrested soon afterwards and is expected to appear in court today, 17 October.
Bettie Lawens, DA Councillor for Michausdal in Cradock, says that Manqina and her two daughters resided with Lawens' father in Vukazenzele Street. According to Lawens, the suspect collected Manqina from the house on the day of the murder.
The suspect is a well-known person in the community. Col Priscilla Naidu, spokesperson for the police, says that a case of murder is under investigation in Cradock.
