SOMERSET EAST NEWS - One man was fatally stabbed in Somerset East on 24 June, in what local police describe as a love triangle dispute.
"On his way to Port Elizabeth from KwaZulu Natal, Songezile Nkanjeni (52) made a surprise visit to his 29-year-old lover," Captain Bradley Rawlinson, spokesperson for the Graaff-Reinet SAPS, told the Advertiser.
According to Rawlinson, Nkanjeni found the woman with another man. The man tried to hide from Nkanjeni, but an altercation occurred in the bathroom where the man was stabbed and later died. Both the deceased and woman's names are withheld from publication, as the investigation is ongoing. "The circumstances surrounding the incident will form part of the [murder] investigation," Rawlinson added.
The suspect was arrested and later released on R5 000 bail. His next court appearance will be on 23 August.
