GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - On Thursday 14 November, World Diabetes Day, Graaff-Reinet Lions will be offering free blood sugar testing in the clinic room at Clicks in Caledon Street from 9am - 2pm.
This is a project supported by Lions’ groups around the world on World Diabetes Day.
Blood pressure checks will also be available, with the testing being performed by qualified nursing sisters.
According to the International Diabetes Foundation, one in two people currently living with diabetes is undiagnosed, and left untreated or unmanaged, diabetes can lead to life-changing complications such as blindness, amputation, kidney failure, heart attack and stroke.
Funds were raised for this testing at the Lions’ Spring Tea last month, and the Lions are grateful to all who supported this initiative.
