GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - An accident involving two vehicles early this morning on the N9, 25km outside Graaff-Reinet, has claimed the life of a woman aged 34.
According to the police five people were seriously injured in the accident between a Quantum taxi and a VW Polo.
Many more occupants were injured and Emergency Medical Services had to make several trips to the accident scene to transport all the injured to hospital.
According to Graaff-Reinet Police Spokesperson, Captain Bradley Rawlinson, the woman who died was a passenger in the Quantum.
The cause of the accident is unknown.
A child, who sustained serious injuries in the crash, has been airlifted from the Graaff-Reinet helicopter pad to a hospital in the region.
No more information is available at the moment.
Relay EMS was also on the scene and transported patients to Midlands Hospital, then transported one patient from there to Port Elizabeth.
