Update
NIEU-BETHESDA NEWS - Bredton Williams, the suspected Nieu-Bethesda cop attacker, was denied bail on 11 March in the Graaff-Reinet Magistrate's Court.
The local Correctional Services will be Williams' home for a while now. He will appear in court again on 16 April.
Williams stand accused of stabbing a policeman in the arm.
He was arrested on 26 February, after police investigated a spate of housebreaking in the Nieu-Bethesda area. Information directed them to Williams' home.
During questioning at his home, he turned aggressive and stabbed the policeman.
The police asked that the policeman's identity, a Nieu-Bethesda constable, be withheld because of safety reasons.
Williams faces a charge of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
