COOKHOUSE NEWS - A 20-year-old suspect was arrested in Cookhouse last Saturday for possession of drugs.
On Saturday 4 September at about 16:15, Cookhouse crime prevention members were informed of a man who had come to Cookhouse from Port Elizabeth with drugs in his possession.
The team immediately responded to the location of the suspect. On approaching the suspect, he ran away, but was soon apprehended.
A body search was conducted on the suspect and the team recovered five sachets of tik.
The 20-year-old male was arrested for dealing in drugs.
The estimated street value of the 24,8 grams of tik is about R15 000.
The suspects will appear in the Somerset East court soon.
Cookhouse station commander, Lt-Col Dennis Ferreira, thanked the members for the positive attitude which they had shown during the operation.
