MURRAYSBURG NEWS - The SAPS Stock Theft Unit is hot on the heels of the suspects involved in two huge thefts over the past four months.
In addition to smaller stock theft incidents in the area, 109 Merino sheep and 16 Boer goats were stolen from a farm on the Murraysburg Road, between 14 and 16 October last year, as well as 30 sheep from another farm in January this year.
In the January theft case, some of the sheep were found slaughtered.

Police Spokesperson, Captain Bradley Rawlinson said they do not suspect a syndicate operating in the area. He did, however, confirm that the suspects are known to the police.
Despite his concern, Dave Stern, chairperson of the Graaff-Reinet Agri District Union, is cautiously optimistic, as two other cases have been solved after the suspects were caught on camera. Cameras have been installed on main Eastern Cape routes to combat crime.
Rawlinson said the police have preventive measures in place to curb stock theft, as long as the cases are reported. He asked anyone with information to contact the police.
