KAROO NEWS - Graaff Reinet, a town rich in history and community spirit, is gearing up for a very special celebration.
The Graaff-Reinet Cancer Association, an integral part of this close-knit community, is commemorating its 50th birthday with a remarkable event.
While the world may have evolved over the years, one thing remains constant: the enduring commitment to supporting cancer patients in Graaff-Reinet and its surrounds. The celebration will take place at the St James Hall, located at the Anglican Church.
It's set to be an unforgettable evening filled with joy, reflection and camaraderie. The festivities are scheduled to kick off at 18:00 on 19 September.
The association is privileged to have André van Rensburg of Our Yard, who has graciously volunteered to take charge of the meal preparation and service and will be ably assisted by caterers Madeleine Boucher, Quentinn van Rensburg, owner of Schoonhuid and Bluma Carr. The culinary experience promises to be nothing short of spectacular.
The evening will commence with delightful canapés and welcome drinks in the serene garden, followed by a delicious plated main course.
The programme also includes a captivating talk by guest speaker Johannes de Villiers on "The Art of Happiness". His insights are sure to inspire and uplift everybody present.
The talented Edwardine Abader will serenade the audience with meaningful songs, further enhancing the celebratory atmosphere. Quintinn has offered a special gift of his renowned beauty products for each guest.
