GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - There is no place the community of Graaff-Reinet likes to gather more than on a Karoo stoep.
If it is to drink wine, enjoy afternoon tea, or catch up with old friends, the stoep is the place to be.
Camdeboo Hospice opened its stoep to the public on Friday 30 June for a fundraising initiative where they had tea or coffee with a muffin on offer for one to enjoy while browsing the stoep filled with second-hand jumble, bric-a-brac and books that were on sale.
"We were truly blessed as we had many people dropping in to support us which is greatly appreciated," Wendy Mathie, administrator and fundraiser at Camdeboo Hospice, proclaims. It was truly a fun, lighthearted event made even more relaxing with soft music playing in the background thanks to their newest board member, Johan du Plessis, who made the arrangements.
This was truly a special event. The next "Stoep sale" morning will be held on Friday 4 August and promises to deliver a similar atmosphere and goods on sale.
