EASTERN CAPE NEWS - A 35 year old man was arrested on 13 December following the discovery of the body of a 32 year old female who was reported missing on 9 December.
According to office of the Provincial Commissioner, Eastern Cape, it is alleged that on 13 December the community from Zandukwana location in Libode saw a dog carrying a human hand, which they suspected to be that of the missing woman.
Police were alerted, and the boyfriend of the woman was questioned. Further investigation led police to a toilet at a homestead where body parts were found. It was then established that it was the missing woman.
The boyfriend was arrested and detained on a charge of murder. He is expected to appear in court soon. Investigation is ongoing.
The OR Tambo District Commissioner Maj. Gen. Phumzile Cetyane said that Police will ensure that those people who see no value for human lives, especially women and children, will be charged and brought to justice. "We will see to it that the bail is opposed and justice will take its course, said Cetyane.
