GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The SANBS is currently experiencing critical blood supply shortages, which is why Graaff-Reinet locals are invited to donate blood in town on 14 September.
“COVID-19 restrictions have severely limited our ability to collect adequate blood stocks, particularly because we are not able to access schools, colleges and corporate for blood drives,” said Zikhona Ruiters, Donor Relations Practitioner for the South African National Blood Service (SANBS).
“As a result, our blood stocks have dropped significantly.”
SANBS hopes that donors who are due for donation are able to find the time to make a difference to the lives of others by donating blood. “We are appealing to all our stakeholders to assist us in drawing all willing and eligible donors to their community mobile blood drives,” Ruiters added.
Locals donors are invited to visit Te Watersaal in Graaff-Reinet on 14 September, between 11:00 and 16:00.
