GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Derek Light Attorneys celebrated their 25 year anniversary in 2018. They now decided to give back to the community.
"In thanks of the support received from the community of Graaff-Reinet we wanted to find a project that we could give back to the community," said Michelle Kingwill from Derek Light Attorneys.
Kingwill explained that after hearing Mr Van Jaarsveld’s speech at 2018 Karoolus and hearing about the conditions that the children in the Narsingstraat Hostel were living in, it was felt that this is where we could make a difference and we decided to proceed with blessing blanket project.
"We drove down to Port Elizabeth and filled a vehicle with beautiful fabric with which the blankets were made. The joy of this project is that each blanket is different and hand-made by someone in the community.
Overwhelmed children with their new blankets.
"We received wonderful support in the way of financial contributions as well as the time of ladies who spent many hours making the blankets from friends, clients of Derek Light Attorneys, Union High School Interact Club and the farmers associations."
Derek Light Attorneys thank all those who supported their project. "The joy on the faces of the children as the blankets were received was wonderful and the blankets were very much appreciated."
The Derek Light Attorneys team with the happy children.
