GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The staff and trustees of Graaff-Reinet Museum said goodbye to their beloved colleague, Patricia Blouw, at the end of last year.
Blouw was appointed as departmental officer at Graaff-Reinet Museum in 1997 and retired after 25 years of service.
At the parting event at Coldstream Restaurant, museum chairman, Peter Whitlock referred to Blouw as Auntie Pat because
"she has grown to symbolise the family that the staff have become to one another over the years".
He praised her faithful service and her friendly and amiable nature. Museum manager Anziske Kayster shared anecdotes about Blouw and spoke about her work ethic. She said Blouw always has a wise, kind word and is a comedian of note. "We are going to miss her terribly, and we wish her only the best," said Kayster.
