Adendorp public toilets a disgrace

ADENDORP NEWS - The only public toilet facility in Adendorp is in a dreadful state and unfit for use.

Ward 7 councillor, Rudy Jacobs, was horrified to see the state of the building, both inside and out, during a recent check-up on facilities in the area. "The poor condition of the building was first brought to my attention early in 2017, and I reported it to the municipality," said Jacobs.

Now, it seems that nothing has been done and the situation is even worse, with illegal dumping outside the building and even in the toilet cubicle.

Jacobs has asked the municipality to provide 'no dumping' signs, suggesting that old Camdeboo Municipality signs could be used if necessary, as has been done in Aberdeen.

"The public toilet is a mess, and as I could observe, it has been like that for a very long time," said a disgusted Jacobs, adding that judging by the smell and debris, the toilet is still being used.

Pipes on the outside of the building are also broken.

No response has been received to a query sent by the Advertiser to Acting Communications Officer of the municipality, Wilca Smith.
