ABERDEEN NEWS - There were three cases of note in Aberdeen that were reported to the police during the last week.
The first was a residential burglary, that took place at the Thembalesizwe Creché between 10:00 on 27 September and 15:27 on 3 October.
According to the complainant, the suspect or suspects gained entry by forcing open the backdoor and stole electrical appliances and other household items to the value of R618.
Another residential burglary took place at a house in Lotusville, between 1 October and 6 October. Access to the property was gained by breaking the lock on the door. According to the complainant, she was in hospital when her neighbour came to inform her that her house had been broken into. A DVD player and gold ring to the value of R1400 was taken.
The final case in Aberdeen is one of fraud.
On 10 October at 17:55 the complainant reported for duty at the Traffic Department and took part in a vehicle checkpoint at the 21km mark on the N9 road.
A red Toyota sedan passed them that looked suspicious. The complainant and her colleague went after the vehicle and stopped it. When they asked the driver for his license, she noticed that the ID photo does not fit the driver of the vehicle.
The vehicle in question was also unlicensed and unregistered. The suspect was arrested.
