ABERDEEN NEWS - A large-scale search is underway, following the disappearance of a six-year-old girl, Tri-Annette ‘Kleintjie’ Mintoor, in a mountainous area between Aberdeen and Murraysburg.
Police Spokesperson, Capt Bradley Rawlinson, said the Graaff-Reinet SAPS, Aberdeen and Port Elizabeth Uniform Unit, Mounted Unit, Family, Child and Sexual Unit, as well as farmers, farmworkers and community members are part of the search.
According to Petro Marx, of the farm Perseverance outside Aberdeen where Mintoor lives with her parents, Mintoor went with a friend and her family to the farm The Ranges on Monday 27 July, about 70km from her parents' house, in a mountainous area.
Marx says information indicates that Mintoor wanted to go home and then ventured down the gravel road either Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning.
She was reported missing on Wednesday.
She was last seen dressed in a blue shirt, blue jean and white and black jogging shoes.
Anyone with information about the missing child can phone the Aberdeen SAPS on 049 846 0413.
