GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Complaints have reached the Dr Beyers Naude municipal offices about fake phone calls which are being made to consumers.
These scam artists are posing as municipal 'representatives' calling residents to inform them of their 'arrear services bill'.
The perpetrators then tell unsuspecting consumers that a certain amount of money has to be paid to settle their accounts.
So far, phone calls have only been limited to the Graaff-Reinet area.
The municipality nonetheless requests all consumers of the municipality to be vigilant.
