GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — Graaff-Reinetters are set to express their outrage about the actions of President Jacob Zuma this Friday, April 7.
Across the country, ordinary citizens plan to take to the streets to demonstrate their shock and indignation about last week's firing of Pravin Gordhan as finance minister and the cabinet reshuffle. These actions led to the downgrading of South Africa's credit rating on Monday by the international credit rating agency Standard and Poor.
In line with the marches planned around the country, an event has been organised for Graaff-Reinet - open to everyone. All are encouraged to meet on the bridge in Church Street between the Robert Sobukwe building and the Engen Riverside Convenience Centre at 9am on Friday morning, April 7.
From there, all will march to the Graaff-Reinet Town Hall - together - as one community.
The organisers have stressed that is a an A-political, peaceful protest - and it is hoped that Graaff-Reinetters from all the communities in the town, will participate.
