KAROO NEWS - Eleven people died in four separate accidents on roads surrounding Graaff-Reinet over the weekend.
Three of the eleven people died this morning (16 December) in the Aberdeen police serving area in two taxi related accidents. This morning’s first accident, at about 1.35am, claimed the lives of two people when a taxi collided with a kudu.
Another taxi stopped across the scene, where after two passengers crossed the road and a third taxi hit them.
At approximately 5.25am, the Aberdeen police had their hands full when a taxi with 24 passengers left the road on the R61 between Aberdeen and Beaufort West. One person died on the scene, and the remaining injured passengers were transported to Midland Hospital.
On 12 December, four people were declared dead on scene in a head-on collision on the N10 between Cradock and Graaff-Reinet.
Friday 13 December also saw a taxi related accident, when four people died when their Toyota Etios was involved in a head-on collision with a taxi on the R61 between Aberdeen and Beaufort West.
