NIEU-BETHESDA NEWS - The annual Hobson Steynberg Dohne Merino Ram Sale took place on Tuesday, 13 February, in a jubilant mood as sales were good and rain had fallen at last!
Despite dry conditions over the past few months Hobson and Steynberg were happy that rams still sold on auction for an average of R8 600.
Barry and Brett Meadows of Colesburg won the highest bid on the day paying R21 000 for their ram.
Hampton’s Farming, Stutterheim bought two rams at R18 000 and R15 000 respectively.
Willie Ferreira from the Cradock district bought a ram for R17 000. JP Steynberg reported that old ewes also went for good prices.
The Hobson Steynberg Dohne Merino Ram Sale is always a fun day out.
