GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - On Thursday and Friday evening, 22 and 23 August, Union High School’s hall was swamped by parents, grandparents and staff who were all there to watch Union Preparatory School’s concert Shrek.
The ogre was portrayed by Khazimla Mbulawa, Donkey by Elizabeth Houseman, the dragon by Aimee Short, and Princess Fiona by Zoë Hobson.
The concert was full of songs, dancing and a message about acceptance and following your heart.
“A special word of thanks to stage director Leona Rich, music director Alet Kingwill, Corrie Potgieter for the excellent script, and Avrille Pütter and the UPS teachers for their assistance with the choreography,” said Mariëtte Burger on behalf of the school.
The school also thanked Mel Houseman, who created the beautiful backdrop, as well as all the parents who willingly gave of their time and expertise.
