ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - The organisers of the 2025 SPAR Kirkwood Wildsfees are happy to announce that the festival venue has been moved back to town after a venue, The Co-op in Kirkwood, became available.
This excellent news comes after this year's festival had to be relocated to the Mayogi Bomas on the R75 as Kirkwood High School was no longer an option due to restrictions on the sale of liquor imposed by the Eastern Cape Department of Education on schools.
While the festival, taking place from Friday 27 June to Sunday 29 June, will be held on the grounds of The Co-op, the Kirkwood Wildlife Game Auction on 27 June will take place at the Mayogi Bomas.
“It is great that we have found premises in town,” says festival director, Jenni Honsbein. “We are so grateful to The Co-op, with its headquarters in Humansdorp, for making their Kirkwood grounds available.
“Festival goers who have booked accommodation in Kirkwood will, just like before, be able to walk to the venue,” she says.
The SPAR Kirkwood Wildsfees will feature over 20 national artists on the giant Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency stage, 300 specialist stalls and many horse and working dog demonstrations - just some of the activities included in the entrance fee.
To mark the occasion and the 100th anniversary of Afrikaans as an official language, a free concert will be hosted on the Thursday evening, 26 June.
