GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — It’s time for the annual St James Christmas Fair, where the emphasis is on quality hand-crafted goods, sprinkled with some tempting gifts and tasty food.
The setting, in the verdant gardens of the church and rectory, adds a special touch to what is always a very popular event on the Graaff-Reinet calendar.
Many of the “old favourite” crafters will be selling their goods, as well as some welcome new additions such as Lavender Joy beauty products. Stalls will include woodcraft, needlework, recycled products, jewellery, condiments, wool products, plants, confectionery and baked goods, slumped bottles and other handicrafts.
Charities will be well represented, with the SPCA, CSI, and the ACCV sheltered employment workshop all selling goods. Camdeboo Hospice will once again have a White Elephant Stall at the Fair and would be most grateful for any donations from the community for this purpose.
Any household goods, toys, and bric-a-brac items will be most welcome. If at all possible, donations should be taken to the office at 18 Church Square, or arrangements can be made with Colleen on 049 892 4608 to collect items.
Other charity groups will be cooking up a storm, with pancakes, hamburgers, bacon and egg rolls, ice-cream, cooldrinks, and of course a tea garden to tantalise the tastebuds.
The Fair will run from 9am until 2pm on Saturday, November 26, at St James Church in Somerset Street, Graaff-Reinet. The organisers and stallholders look forward to welcoming many residents and visitors to this special festive event. Any enquiries can be directed to Felicity on 082 505 2791 or Evette on 082 323 1573.
