GRAAFF-REINET — A group of 14 Union swimmers took up the challenge and competed in the Spar River Mile in the Sundays River at Cannonville on Sunday, February 26.
In the Ladies Mile, Jade Shires and Kelly Chester were the first Union swimmers to cross the finish line.
In the Men’s event, Mack Rubidge followed by Johan Vorster, crossed the line first for Union.
Union's youngest swimmers this year were Grade 7 learners, Kendall Krige, Chloe Shires and Corniel Vorster.
Michael Krige, Cameron Muir, Ben Kroon, James Potgieter, VC Beldon, Amanda Brink and Sabrina Potgieter also completed the race.
