GRAAFF-REINET SWIMMING NEWS - Graaff-Reinet swimming club did the town proud at the Nelson Mandela Bay Swimming Championships.
The championship took place from 29 November to 1 December.
Sport star, Rentia Oosthuizen (27), the Eastern Cape Sportwoman of the Year for Persons with Disability and runner up in the Sport Star of the Year category, brought home eight gold medals, with Llewellyn Crew-Brown (17 years and older category) winning bronze in the 200m backstroke.
Marlien Crew-Brown (15-16 years) took the fifth place in the 50m breaststroke, with Carlien Oosthuizen (10 years and younger) qualifying to compete at level 2 in the 100m breaststroke.
Oosthuizen bettered her 100m backstroke record with 13.78 seconds, from 2:13:39 to 2:00:07.
