GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — Members of the Camdeboo Angling Club are gearing up for the sixth annual Karoo Carp Classic, which will be held on Saturday, September 30, as part of the Karoo-lus Festival.
Last year there were 87 entries, will participants ranging in age from primary school children to pensioners in their seventies.
The club would love to see more youngsters and women take part – last year there were only two ladies in the competition. One of the ladies, Adele Conradie from Port Elizabeth, walked off with first prize, so it can be done!
The entry fee is R200 per person, with two people per peg. The first prize, for the biggest carp, is R5 000, and there will be many more prizes and lucky draws awarded to competitors.
