GRAAFF-REINET RUGBY NEWS - Union High and Volkskool's rugby clash attracted thousands of spectators last weekend.

The Spiderman vs Batman u6 games kicked off the event in good spirit on Friday 9 August. The matches were evenly divided between wins and losses, and one was a draw.

Overall, Volkskool won nine of the 13 games, including the u19 clash of clashes. Volkskool's first team had a convincing win of 22-3. Their B team also won with 32-27.

On Friday, after the friendly matches between the u6 teams, the Volkskool u7B team won 35-25, while the A teams finished with a draw of 5 each.

Union's u9 teams fought back and won their games by 30-15 (B team) and 19-17 (A team). Volkskool's u11B team ran over Union, with a win of 31-0. Union's u13B team also lost, by 14-15.

On Saturday, Volkskool's u11A team kicked the day of rugby off with a 4-0 win, but it was Union's u13A team that taught Volkskool a 57-12 lesson.

While rugby supporters started to fill the stadium for the big games to come, Volkskool's u14A team won 12-8, Union's u15A team won by 32-7, and the upcoming stars of both schools, the u16A teams, saw Volkskool win by 27-22.
