RUGBY NEWS - Kwesi Ansah (26), who matriculated from Union High School (UHS) in 2016, did his alma mater proud when he scored seven tries for Ghana in the Rugby Africa Tournament in Mauritius over the past weekend. Ansah currently plays for Durban Collegians.
During his school years as left wing, he played for Eastern Province Country District in 2014 and 2015 in the u. 18 Coca-Cola Craven Week and achieved 50 caps playing for the UHS first team.
In total, Ansah scored a remarkable 49 tries in 51 high school first-team games.
When the Collegians spotted Ansah in a YouTube video, they scrutinised his game in detail, and was so impressed that they recruited him.
Meanwhile, Ghana had also been following his progress and kept tabs on his social media. In 2021 Ansah started playing for Ghana as he was eligible to represent the African country because his father hails from there. His mother is South African.
During the Rugby Africa Tournament, Ansah scored two tries against Burundi, two against Algeria, two against Congo, and one against Ivory Coast.
Ansah says his motto has always been to make his dreams reality. "Don't let your dreams be dreams, fight till you get there. Whether you are in a slump or feeling bad or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do is to keep swinging. Push yourself again and again."

The tournament was won by Algeria, with Ghana in fourth place, just missing the Olympic qualifier by one spot.
