GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Due to Covid-19 restrictions, interschools between Volkskool and Union will not take place this year.

The announcement was made today (Wednesday) by Hoër Volkskool principal Theo Dörfling. It was Volksies turn to host the event - a highlight on the town's social calendar, not only for current learners, but also for old learners and sports fans.

"It is not easy to make this announcement, but regulations in the country and especially for schools make it impossible to continue with this tradition this year," Dörfling's statement read.

He called upon reunion groups to communicate the announcement, and reminded learners and stakeholders that they had the 2022 centenary to look forward to.  "We are already hard at work on this project to make it a special event," Dörfling added. "We rely on positive engagement at both Laer and Hoër Volkskool for the road that lies ahead."
