GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Last weekend Stallions Cricket Club hosted uMasizakhe Cricket Club at Botanical Cricket grounds and set a challenging score in their allotted 20 league fixture match.
Stallions won the toss and after opting to bat first, set a competitive score of 109 runs for 5 wickets, in their allotted 20 overs.
The opening batsmen, Donovan Joubert and Alsandro Davids (3rd batsman) set a 51 run partnership. Michael Bantom (batsman number 6) contributed 16 runs to the winning score, set for uMasizakhe.
When uMasizakhe's second team took to the crease, wickets kept tumbling and they were eventually 9 out for 94 runs in their allotted 20 overs.
After an impressive bowling performance Donovan Joubert ended the day with bowling figures of 3 wickets for 7 runs in 2 overs, while his bowling partner, Jeandré Davids produced an effective, on-the-spot bowling attack and crushed any thoughts of a batting revival by uMasizakhe, taking 3 wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs.
Stallions won the match by 15 runs.
