GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The pigeon racing season came to a conclusion this weekend when the clubs held their annual prize-giving on Saturday 12 November at Botanics, Graaff-Reinet.
Karoo Racing Pigeon Union members were rewarded for their efforts after a great season of competitive flying.
The competition came right down to the wire, with the champions being decided for the season.
Lourens Fourie Hokke (Golden Valley) was the winner in the yearlings (young pigeons) section.
Smith Fourie Hokke (Golden Valley) came second and Karoo lofts (Merino) ended third.
Gerdie Mooimelk (Golden Valley) was fourth, and G&J Heunis (Merino) a solid fifth.
