GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Young Jarrod Gerber (10) again clocked the fastest time at Saturday's Mountain Drive parkrun but it was Derek Holm who was the star of the show with his 100th appearance at this weekly 5km stroll.
Jarrod finished in a time of 26:37.
26 parkrunners braved the mixed weather morning.
No personal best times were recorded on Saturday thanks to a rather hectic headwind. But at least the lush greenery of the veld, after some decent rain, made up that.
The volunteers in the trenches were Tammy de Vos (scanner), Mike Calitz (tokens), Gerry van Rooyen (timekeeper), Shirley Spencer (timekeeper), Anneke Wieneke (tailwalker), Kim Spencer Primic (race director and result processing) and the two Sanparks rangers, who acted as the midpoint marshals.
A friendly Chantel Gerber waves for the camera.
Two's a company. Tailwalker Anneke Wieneke and André Claassen ensuring that no-one gets left behind.
Fiona Glen and Sarahann Oberholster in a very deep discussion.
Leon van Wyk on his way back to the finishing line.
