GRAAFF-REINET SPORT NEWS - Personal Trust, a major player in the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club's Gem of the Karoo Classic, that is being held once again in October 2019, for the 23rd year in a row, sponsored an Open Day Trips competition last Saturday, 9 February on the greens of the local bowling club.
Eight teams took part in a fun-filled day, which featured four 12-end games being played.
To make the day more exciting and "personal", each game had new team formats, with each individual carrying their own score attained in the previous game(s) forward.
At the end of the day, a single shot separated the winner - Niel Colyn on + 35 shots and the runner-up, Peter Kingwill on + 34.
Third place went to Ivor Wakeford on + 24, while Corrie van Zyl and William Whitlock finished joint fourth on + 18.
At the prize-giving, Carl Vermeulen from Personal Trust said that the day was a total success for the company.
Mention must be made of Charlotte van der Merwe and Peter van den Berg, who received accolades for their etiquette and sporting behaviour on the day.
Congratulations to each and every one involved in making the day a Personal and Trusting success.
